We made it! I am officially home, where God has called me to be for the time being, and, boy, is it WILD! In this blog, I am going to separate my update into two sections: Launch and Traveling to Peru.
So launch. Launch is an additional level of training that happens in the days leading up to our flight to Peru. We arrived on the 3rd to Atlanta, GA, and, after extensive training and gathering of teams, left at 2AM on the 7th. We worshipped together and grew in our roles on the team. What an amazing experience! There is also a thing called Parent Launch, where my mom was able to come and learn all about the trip. It was an awesome and emotional time filled with building relations, logistics for the coming weeks, and hard goodbyes.
I have been given the role of “cultural coordinator,” which has been the GREATEST blessing! I have gotten to share my heart with my team about cultural sensitivity and how that fits into purpose and plan of God. I have gotten to share about the things I have learned, and have been given the opportunity to research and learn amazing things about each country I will be going to (yay culture!).
So the 7th (travel day), was yesterday, and it feels like it lasted 10 years. We woke up at 2 AM, headed to Florida on a long layover, and then headed to Peru. We made it in and got home past midnight. All in All, our travel day was very smooth and relaxed! When we got to the house, we met our amazing hosts and learned more about what we will be doing over the next month (more info to come in my next blog- stay tuned).
I am beyond excited to be here working with the leaders in the Kingdom of God to learn from them and love with them. Gracias a Dios!
