We ALL get busy. I know that, I do, but sometimes I feel like I’m the only one. Overwhelmed by all the things to be done and people to see before I leave and trips to take and money to fundraise and work to finish and….. Well, you get it. The truth is, in my busiest or most exhausting seasons of life are when I often feel the most alone. I’ve noticed, though, that the feeling is pretty universal. Lots of people are busy, and lots of people go through their own hardships in daily life.

To be clear, this post is not meant to downplay a person’s trials and hurt. In fact, it is meant to do quite the opposite. Ecclesiastes says this: What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.

If humanity really did run out of truly original thoughts and emotions 2,000 years ago, then surely there are countless people who know exactly what you are going through. People who will cry with you, will laugh with you, and most importantly, will understand your heart in every case. The most assuring emotion to receive from another person, especially a brother or sister of Christ, is empathy. God created us to love- love God and love people. Oh, what a beautiful expression of love as that of empathy! It feels like this verse in Ecclesiastes is meant to be a calm in the storm. I say: I am stressed and anxious. God says: Be Still, I know what you are going through, and so does the Church; lean on them.

Thank you Lord for giving me the Church, and for creating a desire in us to love and understand others around us.

Even if you feel completely alone, like no one can understand what you have been through, you can rest as a child of God knowing that you are not alone! We, the Church, are HERE FOR YOU.

So here is my call to action- reach out. Don’t go through this alone. Tell your story, someone needs to hear it, I promise you. And if you don’t know who to share your story with just yet, anyone reading this can message me or call me with assurance of confidentiality. I am here as your sister in Christ to simply listen.

This post may not be specifically about the World Race, fundraising, or my upcoming trip, but I just felt the Lord nudging me to write it. Someone needed to see this, and I am praying for whoever you are. 🙂

Love you all and thanks for listening!
