So Monday was my birthday and this entire week I have been reflecting on what I read that morning. I read Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
This reminded me that Jesus knew me even before I was born. He knew you. He knew that I would be typing this blog right now and that missions were going to be my passion. He has appointed me and I want my life to be about Him. Jesus, the maker of Heaven and Earth came to serve people like you and me. He brought us the good news and left us to do the same. We all have a calling and everyone’s is different but I know for sure that mine is to serve others. I am willing to lay my life down to raise the kingdom of God.
I know that I have so much more to learn and right now God is teaching me humility. There are many characters from the Bible such as Paul, Joseph, David and Moses that lived humbly serving others but I want to learn from the master. I want to be more like Jesus and honestly, sometimes it is hard. Jesus loved us so much that He took in shame, was ridiculed, scorned, tortured, and agonized to death on a cross! (Phil 2:8) That is truly becoming humble and He became a man to prove us that it is possible when we fully give our lives to Him. This is my goal every day and I know that little by little God is changing me.
As the race gets closer I get heavier butterflies in my stomach when I think about fundraising… Man fundraising is hard because it is awkward to ask for money from people. I am still working at my job and I will continue until December 28th so I can put in as much as I can before my deadline in December. I am asking for your support with prayers and a donation of any amount. It can be $1, $5, or $50 but it all helps me get closer to my goal.
