This is the end of all things. There’s nothing else after. This changes everything. Here’s the phrase that sparks it:

Jesus is the end, not a means to an end.

Jesus’ love is an all-consuming love. And by that, I mean, He allowed His love for us to take Him completely-it consumed all of Him. He layed it all down and even made it so that you and I could use Him. We can use Him as a means to get to something else. We always view the end as greater than the means. He gives us that choice-to see him as lesser-because He layed down His right to force us into something, even if it’s what’s best for us, He will never choose it for us.

“For the greatest love of all is a love that sacrifices all. And this great love is demonstrated when a person sacrifices his life for his friends.” John 15:14

Because of the nature of this love we sometimes find ourselves trotting, unknowingly, down the road labeled, ‘Christ’s Broken Body,’ in the opposite direction of Life. As He walks beside us all the way, He knows what lies at the end of this road: dissatisfaction and unhappiness. However, His love must let us choose for ourselves where we will go. We use His sacrifice (His life) as a means to a different end-an end that we believe satisfies but leaves much to be desired. Jesus is where we find fulfillment and fullness of joy. To find Jesus is to find a life consumed by love in the same way Jesus did; we let love for others consume us as we receive His all-consuming love.

Jesus is the end, not a means to an end.

This is one of the many things I’ve been learning to a greater extent at G42; the leadership academy I’m attending (click the link if you’d like to learn more). I hope you were able to share with me in this revelation that was birthed from class last semester. If you enjoyed it, I ask that you consider partnering with me however Spirit leads-prayer, sharing encouragement of what He’s doing, financial support (link to my fundraising page), sharing this message with others, etc. Thanks for following and supporting my journey! Have a fantastic day!
