Hello everyone! My name is Nikki Marietta. I am a 20 (soon to be 21) year old student from Liberty Twp, OH and spend much of my time at school or church in southern KY. I currently am in my final semester (praise God) of college at the University of the Cumberlands with a psychology major and church music and worship minor. I am a worship leader at The Creek Church and spend most of my free time singing. My parents are Kevin and Mary Kay and I have 3 older sisters, Ashley, Amy, and Megan. My two oldest have recently given me auntie status as well. Personally, my heart is impacted daily by the people I meet and the evident encounters with God. The fact that I have made it this far with amazing opportunities such as this just shows how God’s hand has been over my life. I am very invested in relationships with people and loving people while sharing about the Lord.
As far as my calling, I am currently called to finish school and, since 2015, have felt the calling of ministry on my life. I am a worship leader at heart, and in January 2019 I will step into a season of missions! I have always felt called to lead in some sort of way, which doesn’t surprise me that my Myers Briggs personality is an ENFJ aka the Protagonist. This type is shared with many leaders who have wanted to make a difference in the world (even Oprah). I hope to live up to that! I have a strong desire to make a change in this world!
My journey with God has been everywhere from super highs where I didn’t think I could get enough, to lowest of lows where I thought I might walk away. However, no matter what season I am in, God always seems to call me back to Him, displaying His love and the goodness of his heart and plan! Thankfully, I have had amazing people in my life who have helped to guide my journey, show Gods love, and walk beside me in faith.
In this coming year long journey, that has really started now in preparation, I would love to grow deeper in faith with God. I want to learn to instantly trust, to hear God clearly and just better, and to be selfless and humble in my relationships with others. I have wanted to grow for a while, but have hit a comfort zone and need to “step out of the boat”. So, I am here. Coming back to missions, hoping to see God’s heart in the world, and trying not to get too caught up in worries surrounding fundraising and traveling. I am more excited than anything, although I have never raised this much money for anything so that is probably my biggest worry. However, i REALLY do believe God has got this one. There are people out there who are called to do things for God, mine might be going, others might be giving, and hopefully I encounter some other gifted people along the way.
If there is anything I can ask for in prayers for this journey, it would be that my team stay safe, we all get funded accordingly, we all build a community..but more than anything, that I learn to fully rely on and trust God in this process. Just be in prayer for my heart during this preparatory season! (please and thank you)
