Fitness used to be my “thing”.
I am knowledgable of weightlifting, cardio, macro counting, etc.
With that being said, I have been a member of at least one gym since I was in high school.
Would you like to know what else is my “thing”?
Procrastination.
I wait..and I wait.. and I wait.. and then I RUSH. I thrive under pressure, so subconsciously I create these narratives in my head that I can wait wait wait and then everything will work out because I hustle.
So OF COURSE I waited until TODAY…LAUNCH WEEKEND.. to cancel my gym membership back in Scottsdale.
It’s a little before 1p.m. at my hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. I dialed the phone number to my gym back home, where I was redirected to a customer care line… AND LET ME TELL YOU THE LORD IS SO GOOD..SO SO GOOD.
A sweet, gentle voice answered the phone with such grace that I was instantly comforted by the situation in which I had created. Customer Care agent, Cheryl, instantly blessed me with the Lord’s word as soon as I explained my current situation. I began pacing..no..DANCING..SKIPPING..SPINNING around my hotel room because I could FEEL in my BONES the words the Lord was speaking into my life through sweet, sweet Cheryl.
After assisting me in the tasks that I needed to complete through the phone call, I listened intently as Cheryl described the works my team and my hands are going to do in the lives of HUNDREDS over the next 11 months on this race. She reassured me, the Lord has walked these places before, God’s feet have gone before us, so we shall not worry. The specifics coming through the speaker on my phone were so divine, and so encouraging, I felt my hands begin to shake.
A few moments later, Cheryl shared with me the name and location of her home church…but she also shared with me that she is currently located ONE TOWN OVER from the hotel I am staying in this weekend!
IF THAT AIN’T ENCOURAGEMENT AND A WORD FROM GOD HIMSELF TELLING ME THAT I AM EXACTLY WHERE I NEED TO BE, THEN I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO TELL Y’ALL!
So to Cheryl, her family, and all of Deep Waters Community Church, thank you. I am praying for all of you.
Thank you for your blessings, for your encouragement, for being a vessel the Lord can speak to this World Racer through.
Lord, I am enough. And I am ready. Send me.
