I set 3 goals surrounding my community, leadership, and a personal goal. For community, my goal is to be on many people’s “build me up” list. Anyone that talks to me or is near me will leave feeling encouraged and uplifted. I will do this in my squad. In leadership, I will lead by example in positivity and hard work. I will do this on my team, by always having a positive attitude and working hard even when I don’t want to. My personal goal is to work through hurts the Lord is revealing to me. I will process everyday by sitting with the Lord for at least 20 minutes. These are four of my teammates giving me feedback on these three goals in my leadership. I showed them my goals, and asked for their honest thoughts.
Stephanie- “Moriah is what I like to call my “hype (wo)man”. She celebrates me at my highs and builds me up at my lows. She isn’t over bearing, overly-enthusiastic (that’s a legitimate thing out there), or in genuine. She’s realistic in her approach, and points back to truth. Not some optimistic fantasy. I thnk this is an important part of leadership–maintaining an attitude that energizes your team, while still remaining realistic.”
Grace- “Moriah’s approach to life is encouraging, always striving to be the best example she can be as well as building people up and encouraging them to strive for more. Her positivity even in tough situations lifts the people around her up and pushes everyone to move forward with the same level of enthusiasm. Leadership is a difficult role to be placed in but Moriah looks for a balance and sometimes it takes trials and errors, but when the balance is found it’s inspiring to watch her lead with excellence.”
Alyssa- “Moriah is one of the most celebratory people I’ve ever met, she rejoices in other’s growth and marvels at God’s goodness in every story she hears, this celebratory nature encourages people to open up to her and let her in on whatever Jesus is walking them through. As she rejoices with those who rejoice she also mourns with those who mourn, this deep empathy that she possesses has a way of validating other’s experiences and emotions and encourages everyone to walk in vulnerability with her.”
Eliza- “Moriah has always been my encourager. When most people hear a story you tell, they give a few quick laughs, not really amused, but when you tell Moriah, the look on her face makes it WORTH IT! She is always ready to laugh when you laugh. Cry when you cry. Shout when you shout. She looks at life’s situations and says, “Bring it on!” because she looks at them is with a heavenly perspective. She knows that the Lord created all things and she wants to rejoice in that always. She is such an encouragement to me. She knows what to say and when to say it because she always asks the Lord.”
