Kaleo team discussion

My team and I were discussing how to effectively share our faith, and there was one common theme throughout every response: love. The simplest most common word in the english language, yet the most difficult to grasp it seems. We defined “effective” as loving like Jesus and having Him in conversation, planting seeds in someone’s soul, and leaving scenarios knowing you acted in the same way Jesus Christ would love.

For Grace, walking out in faith through the fruits of the spirit is the most effective. Walking in the a spirit of love and joy, is contagious. Trusting and having faith in the Lord’s plan draws attention because people start to notice the peace and joy you naturally carry.

For Eliza, just loving people well does the trick. Seeing people around for who they truly are and not focusing on their circumstances. We should love like Jesus, unconditionally without fault. We do this when walking on the streets, and loving people and kids who are dirty and would not get affection anywhere else. We want to see all people as children of God, who were handcrafted by Him. This makes people see a difference in you from others, and it will lead to sharing faith.

Stephanie says our greatest and new commandment from God, is to the Him and love others. Doing this leads to good works and serving others well. These actions set us apart from others. When you love God and care what He says about you, fruits of the spirit develop in your spirit. When you walk well i these, it draws people attention to Jesus. It causes them to want what you have.

Josie said choosing to walk humbly in your service and at the same time boldly sharing your testimony and the Gospel, through not watering the Gospel down and loving deeply. We do this by talking to people you would not normally approach, and showing them the love of Jesus.

The common theme: love. God is love.
