The end of Month 7 has arrived, and I wanted to share some of the highlights from our time in Manila!
We spent a lot of time in the community this month while working with Kids International Ministries (KIM). It has easily been one of my favorite months of the Race so far.
- I did a whole lot of children’s ministry – played with toddlers, cleaned up after toddlers, folded their laundry.
- We spent a lot of time in the swimming pool where we were staying. We were really living the life this month.
- I had a tattoo designed within the first few days thanks to Hattie.
- We ate tacos, waffles and cinnamon rolls!
- I got extremely sick within 16 hours of being here. (Don’t worry, I was great within 24 hours).
- Christine and I spent a morning in a couple study hall classes in Cuatro Christian School, the local high school, located right next to KIM. One of the classes was 10th grade, and I felt like I was in the middle of the High School Musical set itself, basketballs, singing and all.
- I got to help in the initial planning of a marketing project for Kids International.
- Part of my team read part of the Harry Potter series together as team time.
- Highlight 6 continued as I spent at least 2 days a week at the high school.
- The staff at Kids International were some of the sweetest people I have ever met.
- My momma came to visit! (and she got a tattoo at 1:30 am!)
- I saw the Lion King in theaters!
- I fell in love with a country and a city that is full of the sweetest people.
On to Month 8! Can’t wait to share more stories!
