Time for a throwback story. It’s one of the last days of Training Camp in October, and Megan, my squad mentor, pulls me aside before one of our Squad meetings to ask me a question. I’m standing there with Megan and one of the other members of my squad when Megan asks if the two of us would like to be Storytelling Leaders for our Squad – specifically for our teams as we begin the Race. We don’t have much of an idea of what this would entail, but after our brief conversation with Megan, we both say yes!
So for the last few months, I have had the opportunity to be the Storytelling Leader for my team! That began during Launch by getting to join the other Storytelling Leaders for training.
Our role is here to encourage, but not to enforce. Ever Racer is encouraged to write blogs weekly. Within my role, we are here to encourage our teams in ways to write blogs. But that doesn’t mean that we are here to force people to write blogs.
We want our friends to share their stories because YOUR. STORY. MATTERS!
God has given each person stories to tell. Even though we might have experienced some of the same things, that doesn’t mean that we experienced it the same way! So we can share the same story on our blogs or on our social media, but because we are different people, we had different experiences within the same situation! So share that story! You have different circles of influence than I do, so despite the fact that we could both be sharing the same story, we are sharing the story to different very different people because we are coming from very different places!
And you don’t know how God is going to use the story that you have! There are specific people that need to read your stories that will be impacted by what you have to say!
Your voice matters and your voice has influence! Don’t be afraid to share those stories!
