Wow. Ten days of Training Camp that felt like they lasted for two months. I learned so much, was challenged in so many ways, and got to meet so many cool people. To scratch the surface and give you a tiny view into what we did at Camp, here are 22 things I learned!
- It’s okay to ask for help.
- There is beauty in freedom.
- The fitness hike is hard, but doable.
- Let your yes be yes even when it’s challenging.
- Dance parties are always welcomed.
- We all have stories to tell.
- You have to be willing to say yes to the Lord in order for things to happen.
- Letting go of my expectations at the beginning of Camp was so so good!
- Feedback is good. Be open to it.
- Georgia is cold in October.
- Be ready to sit in God’s presence regularly.
- Don’t Wear all of your different hats trying to impress people. Be yourself.
- Your host is a wealth of knowledge. Don’t get to a point where you think you are smarter than them.
- Forgiveness is a choice, not a feeling.
- I am a messy eater whether I have silverware or not.
- Your expectations for the Race – whatever they are – are probably wrong.
- Door-to-door evangelism is not as scary as you think.
- Have a sermon prepared ALL. THE. TIME. because you will be asked to speak in church all the time.
- I truly learned what it means to be a daughter of the Most High King.

- When someone gives you feedback, say thank you.
- It‘s okay to be like Mary, and it’s okay to be like Martha, just find a balance.
