I will be posting a blog each day for the next few days, expounding on details about each country that my team and I will be visiting to spread love to. I am hoping to partner with 1 person each day for the next 11 days to support me at $100. Would you be willing to support me as I head to Costa Rica?

11 months in 11 days: Costa Rica

Location: Central America, South of Nicaragua

Capital: San Jose

Population: 4.86M

Fun Facts: ~Costa Ricans refer to themselves as Ticos or Ticas, which I actually learned watching the World Cup this year and hearing everybody yell, “Vamos Ticos!”

~In Costa Rica, almost all Catholic churches face west.

~A common phrase used after a Costa Rican woman has a baby is “Ella dio a luz,” meaning “She gave light.”

~The sun rises and sets in Costa Rica at the same time every day, 365 days a year, due to its close proximity to the equator.

~Costa Rica possesses 51 of the New World’s 300 hummingbird species, making it the hummingbird capital of the world.

Costa Rica is supported greatly by its tourism industry, welcoming hundreds of thousands of tourists in each year. Outside of the large tourist destinations, people live in deep, deep poverty. Oftentimes, people do not have the options to support themselves due to the lack of jobs within the country. Our squad will be working alongside existing ministries in Costa Rica, helping to run feeding programs, help with those in poverty, and run VBS programs for children. This beautiful country has a lot of dark secrets that need to be brought to light.

Thank you for reading! As I stated at the beginning of blog, I am looking for 1 person today to sponsor me at $100 and to support the lost in Costa Rica. I am currently at just under $7000 raised and need to be at $10000 by the end of September. I would feel so blessed to receive your support during this season, so if you would be open to donating to support me, scroll to the top of the page and click donate. You can also donate via Venmo(@MiiggySmalls) or on PayPal([email protected]).

Please keep me in prayer as I continue to work towards support raising and while I am headed to Costa Rica to spread some serious love.
