I will be posting a blog each day for the next 7 days, expounding on details about each country that my team and I will be visiting to spread love to. I am hoping to partner with 1 person each day for the next 11 days to support me at $100. Would you be willing to support me as I head to Swaziland?

11 months in 11 days: Swaziland

Location: Towards the northeast corner of South Africa, just south of Mozambiqe

Capital: Swaziland has two capitals; the administrative capital is Mbabne and the legislative capital is Lobamba

Population: 1.3M

Fun Facts: ~Swaziland recently changed their name from Swaziland to eSwatini as they marked 50 years as an independent nation.

~Swaziland is the smallest country in Africa, just slightly smaller than the state of Massachusetts

~The red feathers of the lourie bird are a sign of belonging to the royal family of Swaziland and can only be worn by members of the royal family.

~Widows in Swaziland will shave their heads as a sign of mourning.

~Witch doctors believe that the blood and body parts of albinos can bring good luck and fortune… creepy

Just like Lesotho, HIV/AIDS is a serious problem in Swaziland. Swaziland has the highest prevalence rate of HIV-infected adults in the world at just over 26% of the adult population being infected with the disease. Additionally, Swaziland has the highest rate of TB incidence in the world, and 83% of the people who are infected with TB also have AIDS. About 7,000 people in Swaziland die each year from HIV/AIDS, that’s 600% more than the rest of the world, with an average of 1,000 death per year in other parts of the world. In addition to all of the disease and sickness in this country, 70% of the population live in abject poverty while also suffering with widespread malnutrition. My team and I will be moving into these areas and working with those in poverty and those in HIV/AIDS clinics. I genuinely have fear about coming here, I don’t want to see people in pain, or people hurting or hungry, but I know this is something that I need to be a part of.

Thank you for reading! As I stated at the beginning of blog, I am looking for 1 person today to sponsor me at $100 and to support the lost in the Philippines. I would feel so blessed to receive your support during this season, so if you would be open to donating to support me, scroll to the top of the page and click donate. You can also donate via Venmo(@MiiggySmalls) or on PayPal([email protected]).

Please keep me in prayer as I continue to work towards support raising and while I am headed to Swaziland to spread the love of Christ.
