Hello everyone! I wanted to share somethings from my journal with you. I hope this encourages you and that you can relate. At the end of an era there is always the anticipation of what is next? What does God have for me? Where will I live? Where will I work? What battles will I have to face? What is next for me in the midst of the mundane? Those were a few questions I had at the end of my Worldrace in 2019. In all of our lives, in transition there is always the question “What’s Next?”
//
The questions we typically ask when we step into something good and new is…
- Am I ready for it?
- Is my mind ready for it?
- How can I be ready for something or a blessing, when I don’t exactly know completely what all is involved?
THE CUSP OF SOMETHING GOOD
The uncertainty of all the details of what’s next is what can be terrifying. Do you ever get that feeling like being on a rollercoaster? It is like you have emotions of feeling excited with the trill of the rollercoaster and anxiety of what could happen at the same time.
The hardest thing to explain on the cusp of something good is your excitement in combination with anxiety/cautiousness. Typically other people on the outside can be excited as much as you because they have the benefit with being excited without anxiety/cautiousness.
The reality is that you can have something good in front of you and still wrestle with the uncertainty of “Can I handle it?” What is it? What all comes with that? What all is required of me? Do I have what it takes? You can be in the perfect spot of blessing and still wonder if you are enough.
You can attempt to perform all day and then go sit in your bed all day and still wonder if you are enough? This overthinking can take place but we have to remember that we have the Lord on our side guiding us and He gives us His strength. The truth is that you are enough even when it feels like you aren’t. God is your strength and makes up for the places where you are weak. I like to say “Rest and Rely on Him”. Jesus died for you and decided that you are more than enough. And since we have Him, His strength, grace, and his spirit take the place of inadequacy. He uses the weak to shame the proud. 1 Corinthians 1:27
THE MUNDANE
It is in the mundane is where we have to remember what He already promised us. The Bible in all of its details gives us moments where things happen. It doesn’t write about the moments of nothingness. We have to remember that everyday something big isn’t going to happen. We have to trust and believe that the favor of God is still upon us and what He said before is still true despite being in a time of the mundane. God will put you in a season of nothingness to grow you just like David after being anointed to be king and then going back to tend to the sheep.
I think when David was watching the sheep after being anointed to be King he thought, “What does watching after these sheep have to do with being King?”
1 Samuel 16:1-13 | 1 Samuel 17:15
Just like David we cannot forget what God already promised before. In his case he was already anointed to be King and that was to come despite going back to the mundane. We have to be able to deal with ordinariness. We have to be able to do the small things as if they were mighty. If you can be significant and dignify your now before you get to your next God will bless you. You got to be mighty in the mundane! That is what makes great people great. They care about the little things and their significance is not tied to the clapping of people.
GOD IS WATCHING YOU
Remember God is watching over you in the mundane. God is watching over you in the ordinary. God is watching your integrity. He is watching you when no one else is. HOLD ON TO YOUR INTEGRITY Proverbs 5:21
- How do you deal with feeling overlooked?
- How to you deal with feeling delayed?
- How do you deal with days of uncertainty?
God bless you and I pray you remember to be mighty in the mundane. God is watching what you do when no one is watching and what God promised you before the mundane is coming! He has put you in this season so you can grow into the man and woman of God he is calling you to be. He developing His character in you and he is preparing you for what is coming next. Galatians 6:9
You won’t get what God has for you if you refuse to do the mundane. The mundane is the part of the process and if we make it through it God will bring us to what I mention in my next blog.
