Hey all! My name is Michael. I’m 26 years old. I just graduated from the University of North Texas with a BA in Applied Arts and Sciences with a concentration in Logistics & Supply Chain Management. I also studied Photography at the College of Visual Arts & Design.

I found out about The World Race in 2011. At the age of 17, I felt a sincere desire and yearning for missions after a mission trip to Reynosa, Mexico (Pictured Below).

God continued to show me how broken the world is and how much people need to experience him. Since 2009, I have always wanted to pursue The World Race, but my mom wouldn’t allow it. She told me I had to finish school first.

After graduation, I was in full pursuit to land an excellent job. After a month of waiting, I started to doubt God’s plan and felt like He wanted me to be somewhere else. After the interviews, I began to feel empty, and I didn’t have a sense of belonging. On February 15th, I then came across the World Race again in a dream before my last hospital visit (long story). It was there when my mom had mentioned I should apply to The World Race to see if God was calling me there since I just finished school. I then applied, and He confirmed my calling when I got accepted! The Lord led me to this fantastic opportunity to learn, grow, and serve.

I am so excited to be able to seek and serve God through The World Race, and I know He will do amazing things! I appreciate your prayers and support as I, and all other racers, begin this journey.

About me:

Born in Gainesville, Ga and I am residing in Dallas, Tx.
I am the oldest of 6 brothers and sisters. My hobbies include photography, worship, dancing, car singing (haha), painting, poetry, cooking, running, exploring new places, laughter, and hanging out with friends.
I have served for four years leading and disciplining a small group of students at Irving Bible Church. I know my purpose is to voice for the voiceless with my gift of photography and storytelling. I pray that I grow in evangelism, preaching, storytelling, and teaching. I dream of eventually partnering with a faith-based NGO that allows me to use my photojournalism to share the stories of people across the world and to share the gospel with them.

“Speak out on behalf of the voiceless,
and for the rights of all who are vulnerable.”

Proverbs 31:8
