I am honestly, in complete AWE of the Lord that I am able to say.. HELLO FROM TOGO!!
Hey family and friends! Exciting enough, I was able to join the squad for the last week of ministry in Togo- Africa! We are starting to travel to Thailand on Saturday!! YAY! How amazing to know that we are already done with our 3rd month! The team has filled me in and ministry was so amazing this month. A lot of preaching, evangelism, and teaching! We break off into teams of 2-3 and we are disbursed into the country, where we teach and preach at the different churches that were planted by our ministry host Pastor Z! Since I arrived on Saturday, I was only able to attend church once on Sunday, so I was not able to preach or teach this month, but I was able to pray for the congregation when I went! My teammates did an terrific job!! Our ministry host also has us teaching at a bible school! How amazing is God! My squad-mates told me that they first felt completely unqualified to teach at a bible college! (the majority of us don’t have any form of qualifications that certifies us to teach to students) BUT GOD! God doesn’t call the qualified, HE qualifies the called! We are learning to fully depend on the Holy Spirit! My teammates were FIRE!!!!! They teach me so much daily! It is amazing to see how the Holy Spirit moves!!
This month has been full of transitions! I went from living in a small village with the team, to flying back to America, to now living in a cute house with 2 other teams! 3 out of the 5 teams are staying together this month. We have cooks that come in and cook us breakfast, lunch, and dinner and they even wash our clothes! How SWEET ARE THEY!!! They literally hand wash, ALL of our laundry, by hand and then hang them to dry! Talk about small blessings! Hand washing can be very exhausting! Sleeping is a little difficult for me this month! It is hot and we only can run the air conditioner for 3 hours ( any 3 hours we choose) a day! Each team chooses their own ‘run time” my team chose to run our air between the hours of 9pm-12am. Just enough air to get us to sleep at night, then we have to shut it off because we are sharing the electricity bill! However; by the time my body decides to go to sleep at night, air is off and I have to peel off all my clothes! HA! I am still operating on America- Georgia time!
Community living has been so incredible. It is my favorite!!! I love the fact that we are in this big community space and we can get to know more about each other! So much fun! We worship together, eat together, play games together…. It’s GREAT!!! I love being around people in general and want to be in every conversation, but God is showing me that it is okay to steal away and get some alone time with HIM! I guess since I was gone for 45 days, I missed these guys so much, so I just want to be with them all day, everyday! However, the Lord is still the priority.
That is TOGO!!!! Simple. The weather is beautiful. The people are sweet. The food is yummy ( even though our host mainly cooks American food)!!!
In other news……
I feel GREAT!!!!!
Thank you so much for supporting me on this journey! I am super excited to be BACK!!!!!!!! Man. I honestly can’t talk about God’s faithfulness enough!!
I am still not fully funded and would LOVE your support! I am fundraising a little extra because of all of the expenses associated with insurance and getting me back out on the field! If the Lord provided $90,000, I know that he will provide the rest of the funds I need to be fully funded!!!!! If you would like to support me, I would love for you to donate! I am only $6,853 ( being fully funded, flight, and insurance)! I have until April 30, 2019 to be completely funded!!!!!
