So, you guys might be thinking…. Why would Meyuna be writing about something that she should probably write about ‘later’ or at least AFTER the race is done?
Well, YES! and NO! Interesting enough, this is the most asked question that I have received next to “Are you ready?” or “How am I going to get in contact with you?” lol… the infamous; Meyuna, What are your plans AFTER you come back from the World Race!? What are you going to do? Can you go back to your old job?
It isn’t every day a 29-year-old quits her jobs, says bye bye to her Blue Cross Blue Shield health Insurance, parks her vehicle, packs a backpack and says see ya later to what she calls comfortable.
Or is it?
As this year comes to an end and 2019 creeps up on me, I have to wonder, WHAT WILL I DO WHEN I GET BACK? Sis, those student loans won’t pay themselves! As I packed my little house up and moved my things back to my parent’s house, as I make doctor appointments and beg them to squeeze me in before January 1st, as I visit family and friends, as I look at my student loan debt and everything that comes with ‘ADULTING’… the thoughts, fears, and questions of “What will be next?” grows louder in my ear! Responsibility HAUNTS me!! I cant blame people for asking me, but I soon began to wonder, MAYBE I SHOULD be thinking on the NEXT while I am preparing for the Now!
Yesterday, in the midst of my unproductivity (lol); I had the opportunity to sit down with one of my closest friends. As we sat down and chatted about life, due to the approaching New Year, the conversation soon flowed towards setting goals. My friend began to explain to me that when she started to sit and set goals for her next year and her business, she threw away her old thinking and started to set them using a ‘God Margin’! Intrigued, she began to explain… She told me that she used to set her goals right at a point to where she knew it was decent enough for HER to meet, but not big enough to where if she did not meet the goal, she would not get disappointed in herself. Basically, she set goals playing it safe! For example, she said “I want my business to make an extra $20,000 in a year, that means I would only have to train 20 clients. BOOM- goal MET! My friend then explained to me, that this wasn’t the ‘ God Margin’! She said, “Finding 20 clients is nothing, I could do that easily if I worked hard enough” ( she could do it in ‘her own strength’). My friend then expounded and explained to me that in order to exercise ‘FAITH’ in her life, she needed to operate in the “God Margin’.
So what is the ‘God Margin’! The God Margin is another fancy word for FAITH!!! lol! IT is having Faith so BIG that when you set a goal in or for your life, it is SO BIG that when it is MET you know ONLY GOD did that!!…… FAITH! It’s allowing God to have the SPACE or ‘MARGIN’ to work in your IN life, fully depending on him!
My friend and I soon began to talk about this for my life and how I was stressing over the ‘NEXT’ and getting sick over it! She said, “MeMe, you not knowing what will happen next is a GOOD THING. You not having anything to tell people, especially your family is a FAITH THING! God is about to blow your mind! During these 11 months, HE ( Jesus) WILL show you SO MUCH including what is next for your life, if you tune in to him. You NOT knowing what is next means that you are fully surrendered to HIS PLANS FOR YOUR LIFE! So when NEXT comes, you know and your family and friends will know that ONLY GOD did it and it was nothing Meyuna planned. It was, having Faith in your Father! This will provide such a testimony to those around you, to only TRUST the Lord. We should operate our lives in such a way, all the Glory goes to God, not ourselves…. it’s the God Margin!
YALL. I am so grateful for Godly community!
So, friends and family, I may not know what will be next for me after I return. I may not know HOW these student loans will get paid….. BUT I do know a Father that tells me in HIS word that, ALL THINGS work together for the GOOD of those who love the LORD ( Romans 8:28). A Father that calls me his beloved ( all throughout the bible). A Father that tells me that even though I can plan, he will order my steps ( Proverbs 16:9). A father who has never forsaken or left me ( Duet 31:6). A Father that goes by another name, Jehovah Jireh ( the Lord will Provide)!
I choose to trust an unknown future to a KNOWN God! I choose to rest and just BE!
Friends, I highly encourage you and pray that with 2019 vastly approaching you TRUST your 2019 to a Known God! That you start operating in the ‘ GOD MARGIN”. He is completely WORTH IT!!! HE WILL PROVIDE!! He hasn’t let me down and he won’t let you down either!! TRY HIM!
Let’s make this a God Margin 2019!
