Hey Family and Friends!

Can you believe it! As I nervously type away… I will be leaving for training camp in 14 days! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am completely nervous and excited all at the same darn time!

So, What is Training Camp?

“Training Camp is an intense 10-day experience where me and my teammates meet in Georgia to connect deeply with the Lord and each other. Through teaching, prayer, scenarios, and relationship building,   I will step out of fear and shame and into intimacy with the Father. I will also receive training on how to partner with God to establish His Kingdom on Earth.

It’s designed to be challenging because they want us to prepare you for the road ahead. We will put you in scenarios sure to stretch you, refine you, and bring you closer to Christ.

I will end the week exhausted and smelly, but I will also leave with a newfound intimacy and confidence in the Lord. He will change my life at Training Camp — and it’s just the beginning of the work He’ll do over the coming year.”

W-O-W!!

* insert nervous laughter*

Excited?  I know that I will be meeting some pretty amazing new people and my squad mates ( those that I will be doing life with for 11 months)! Also, this is just one step closer to what the Lord has called me to next year! yay!!! I am also excited for what the Lord WILL DO during training camp! Come on FRUIT!

Nervous &  Scared? Because I have never NEVER in my life slept outside in a tent and I just don’t know what to expect at training camp. It’s one thing to hear what happens its one thing to experience it… with people you don’t know! Also, I am a CITY girl! The first time I even got close to a tent was when I went to REI ( outdoors store) to wrap my mind around buying a tent for next year. lol…Assemble a tent… oh man! Secondly, in regards to training camp,  I don’t even know what to go off of, because they just notified us that we will have to turn off our phones for 2 weeks.. therefore, there aren’t too many pictures circulating of past racers and their experiences.. Just that brief explanation, past blogs, stories of cold showers ( which I am used to, shout out to NICARAGUA) and eating with our hands ( when in Rome do as the Romans, right?)! That’s all I know! This causes great nervousness inside of me… whew!!! The Fear of the Unknown!

BUT TO TOP IT ALL OFF….

Jesus, in all of his humor (which HE IS LAUGHING because I find NO funny in this) is preparing me for the good outdoors.

So I have stayed in my house for a little over a year now. I am an “out of sight out of mind” type of person. If I don’t see it… I’m good! When my cousin and I first moved in, Uncle Mike ( her father) gave us this natural powder stuff to put in corners, on window seals- where ever bugs like to “hide” out. This kills the bugs so they won’t be wandering around the house!  So for a little over a year, I have NOT SEEN ONE BUG ( unless they were already dead)! YAY! I can deal with dead bugs!! Well, all of a sudden as training camp nears, not only have I seen 1 bug, oh no…. I have been attacked by a spider and  I have seen 2 spiders and a bug but catch this…… ALL. IN. MY. BEDROOM!!!

YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! -_-

* inserts a scream!!!*

Literally! Now, before you start to judge me, I keep my room pretty clean and I barely eat in there, so I won’t have a reason to deal with bugs. Well over the past couple of weeks- Spiders and other creatures have been in my space and guys, I AM JUST NOT HERE FOR IT!

Just this morning as I was brushing my teeth, my roommate came in to tell me ” Good Morning” and then she goes…. “DONT MOVE” Just like the people in the movies, you tell them not to move and they move! Well, I ran and hid under my bedcovers. There lies…on my ceiling… in the bathroom a SPIDER! WHAT. THE.HECK!

Here is proof ( HUGE SPIDER):

ANOTHER SPIDER! Must I remind you guys that I was just attacked by a spider a couple of weeks ago!! Seriously! As I was walking into my house, once again… my cousin yelled ” DONT MOVE!”….As her eyes grew big! There was a BIG SPIDER on my shoulder! I can’t make this stuff up! I almost had a heart attack as I ran around my kitchen trying to get the spider off of me!

You would have thought, Jesus was done. BUT oh no. This is the third spider I have had to come in contact with!

So this morning, my cousin made sense of this… a revelation, perhaps! ” Meyuna, I think there is a reasoning behind this”, she said!

*insert eye roll*

The only “reasoning” I could think of, is that my Father is preparing me for what’s to come! Even though I hate bugs, ESPECIALLY in my living space, I would be remised to think that traveling overseas, wont come with a few spiders and bugs.. and other creatures! He is preparing me to NOT have a heart attack overseas where my cousin isn’t close to kill them for me and my mother isn’t close enough to take me to the ER.. after I have had this heart attack! lol

So, I will persevere through the bugs and keep bug spray nearby for right now!
