Hello Family and Friends!
AND THE COUNTDOWN HAS BEGUN!!!
Can you believe we are almost in the 2nd half of the year! In less than 6 months, I will be leaving good ol’ America, ditching my 9-5 and stepping out as a full-time missionary; serving 11 different countries! As excitement and curiosity build, so does a season of preparation! Let me be the first to say, IT. IS. NOT. EASY! I thought originally it would be me just praying, fundraising, writing support letters, sharing with my family and friends and buying a couple of items for my trip! But, listen… BOY was I wrong! I did not realize there was SO much that went into not only preparing for the World Race but preparing to leave my home, my job, my church, my friends, my family; to go 11 months without a paycheck, to make sure my ducks are in order, to minister, to be able to adjust, but most importantly preparing to pour out everything that is within me spiritually, emotionally and physically!
God is showing me that there is A LOT of WORK to be put it! A Lot of tears, praying, pruning, sacrifices, studying, jumping out of comfort zone, saying NO… and this, I’m sure is JUST the beginning!
Over the past 4 months, the Lord has also been dealing with me specifically on one area- TRUST!
Lord, Where will $18,200 come from?
How am I going to pay my student loans while I am gone?
How will I save ‘X’ amount of dollar?
What will happen during, after and before the World Race?
Will the other people in my group, like me?
What will I do with my hair?
What will I eat?
Will I be able to live and save enough for 11 months?
What happens if?
How do I?
I believe that no matter where you are in life, the Lord will take you through a season of preparation. So, rather you are preparing for the next season of your life, your business, about to become a wife or husband, a mother or father, preparing to move, or even preparing a budget; you will go through a time where the Lord will make sure that you are FULLY trusting HIM!
It was just earlier this week when I sat with a friend and we discussed how the Lord was showing me that I was not fully trusting the Lord like I should! I “said” I trusted the Lord, but did I really through my actions and my words? NOPE!!! My actions and words shouted.. LORD, I DONT TRUST YOU!
A true disciple is one that “picks up his cross and follows Him(Jesus)” ( Matthew 16:24-25)! In this season of growing as a disciple, there is only one way in doing this! Wholeheartedly TRUSTING the Lord!
So, friend, I am not sure what the Lord is preparing you for, but one thing I do know! This process is NEEDED and will be totally worth it in the end. God wants you to FULLY TRUST in HIM! He WILL NEVER let you down and Will NEVER leave you NOR forsake you!
So take heart.
Lets get through this season together!
