Who, what, when, where, and why are always the most commonly asked questions when making such a large life decision, so I want to share with all my family and friends what my next big life decision is. I am beyond excited to announce that I will be going on the World Race in January 2019! I will be embarking on this journey with an incredible squad of people to: give, love, serve, and share what the love of Jesus truly is and looks like.
Who am I? I am a 23 year old woman who has been chasing after God’s call and purpose on my life for the past 4 years. I am a newly college graduate, who just finished up my interim time at a church. I am a girl who has seen God move in miraculous and wonderful ways in my life, and know that He is calling me to something greater and bigger. I am a girl who is passionate to tell people who feel bruised, busted, and disgusted by the trials and tribulations of this fallen world; that there is a God who is full of grace, love, and forgiveness. I am a girl who has had my heart burdened for the men, women, and children who have been trapped into the lies of human trafficking to feel they live purposeless lives. I am a girl who is ready for this next step to be on the World Race to have my faith challenged and stretched. I am a girl who feels humbly blessed that God would call and choose me to go on this adventure for His Kingdom!
What is exactly the World Race? The World Race is apart of Adventures in Missions that has sent over 100,000 people since 1989 to do mission work internationally. This is designed for young adults to travel to 11 different countries in 11 months. For the last 11 years, the World Race has been sending a generation into the darkest parts of the world. They take the love of Jesus and share it with those who need it most.
When will I be leaving? I will be launching in January of 2019! I will be gone for 11 months traveling to each of the 11 countries.
Where will I be going on the World Race? The route I have selected will be in Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, India, Nepal, Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Romania, and Ukraine.
Why would you want to do the World Race? This is the question I feel is the most important. As I have been praying over what God had next for me in store, I kept coming back to the World Race website. I couldn’t get the thought out of my mind, and took it to God in prayer. When asked about what would be a reason that would be holding me back from doing the WR in January, I couldn’t possibly think of a reason of why not. I took the leap of faith to apply, and have seen God affirming this decision in many ways. When asking God if this is what was my next steps were to be, two words kept coming back to me: recklessly abandon. If I am able to recklessly abandon the familiarity of my life, to step out in boldness, and let go of all the expectations I have of what my life is to look like; then God is going to do something bigger with my life than I can imagine!
How can you help? The thing I am most excited for with the World Race is that it’s a journey that is not meant to be done alone! I would love for my friends and family to come alongside and support me. There are three ways you can do that:
1. Donate! You can click the donate tab to financially support my trip. No amount is too small!
2. Prayers/Encouragement! This journey is going to be challenging and stretching and I want to create a support team that wants to come alongside with me through prayers and encouragement for our team and I! (You can do this by filling out the Contact form!)
3. Share! Sharing is caring, so please help me by sharing my blog on your social media, so that more people can feel welcomed into this onward adventure! 🙂
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for already the overwhelming love and support!
Much love
~McKenzie
