As I’ve reflected over the month so far, I am reminded of how in the midst of change and the unknown we can trust that we are in God’s hands. He holds us carefully in His arms. He is in control and knows us personally. He seeks to spend time with us one on one and speak truth to us. To replace old lies and hurts with His love and truth. To bring reconciliation and healing in relationships. To bring life and purpose.
In so many moments, I’ve caught myself seeing one thing but then being drawn towards God’s truth or God’s plan instead of my own. This month I’ve often seen the many times we see one reality, “but…” God continues to move and His truth remains. Here are some of those examples:
- We were supposed to be in Thailand month 5, but God brought us here a month earlier and we got to celebrate Songkran- a Thai holiday with water fights in the streets and more- such a fun celebration!
- Chiang Mai is where we were going to have all squad month, but we were redirected to Bangkok for the month.
- We didn’t have assigned ministry anymore with hosts, but God taught us how He moves when we seek Him daily for the day’s ministry (#ATLmonth – Ask the Lord time as we call it with Adventures in Missions).
- I desire to be in control, but God writes a better story when I release and put my trust in Him.
- I seek to do, but God says just be and breathe.
- I desire unity and quick growth, but God says sometimes my healing and relationships take time.
- I’ve noticed my tendency recently to not step both feet into relationships due to past hurt, but the Lord is bringing awareness and with trust is helping me step fully in.
- Finances and being treasurer on my team bring me joy, but my identity and value is not found there.
- I continue to sin and fall short, but God provided a way. It is finished.
- I deserve punishment, but the Lord is full of mercy.
- God owes me nothing, but gives me everything (#grace).
- I don’t have all the answers, but I serve a God and Father that is in control and all knowing.
Fundraising is a journey in itself, but the Lord has provided and I am fully funded for this year as a missionary with Adventures in Missions!
Thank you all for your support and encouragement! I am in awe of the Lord and the ways He has continued to provide and bring together a team of prayer warriors and partnerships. Thank you all!
