PARENT VISION TRIP

Many of you probably have seen my posts about something called Parent Vision Trip. This was a week that my parents were able to come visit me on the mission field in Guatemala to see what my life has looked like the past six months.

Months leading up to PVT were filled with expectations and hopes and a ton of prayer. Prayer of revival, new depth in relationship with the Lord, and new trust in the Lord’s plan for our lives (for my mom, my dad, and myself). I prayed big prayers and got my hopes up real high for this week – and let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed.

The week started with my parents arriving with time to explore followed by worship. That night I could already see the Lord working and ministry hadn’t even started yet. Wednesday morning I had the privilege of taking my parents to my English classes with me. I was nervous and worried it would be awkward but it was SO fun. Seeing my parents attempt to speak spanish & relate with the kiddos was so special. Thursday we got to put on a big field day event for the kids and moms from our village. My mom was a rocking candy lady, being so silly and fun with the kids, and my dad helped with lots of logistical execution. He ended up bonding with a little boy from our village who has special needs and it was the most precious thing. I saw my dad have so much patience and display so much love. On Friday we said goodbye to the community we’ve ministered in and prayed over people. My parents went all in for ministry and it was a blast.

During our free time, we got to go to the huge market, a town known for leather, a ton of restaurants, and hang out with my friends from Guatemala. We got to catch up on each other’s lives.

But the most special part was seeing my parents fall deeper in love with the Lord and have conversations about surrender and being willing to do whatever He asks. I got to see more of their heart and learn more about what God was revealing to them in this season if their lives.

Prayers were answered and I was blown away. This week was one of my favorite weeks of ministry so far. Never will forget it!
