within the last week i have graduated from taylor university, packed up my dorm room for the last time, said goodbye to my friends & family for the year, moved back home & am now working to pack up the next 11 months of my life into a 70L backpack. why? because in two weeks i’m off to atlanta, GA for launch & then off to nicaragua for month one!! with all of this change i don’t think the reality of two weeks has hit me yet. it’s absolutely wild to think about!
below i thought i would share some praises and prayer requests.
praises:
- i currently have $14,593 donated, but $16,823 is pledged to be donated by september (my due date for the total – $19,200). that means i only need to raise $2,377 more WHICH IS MIND BLOWING!! WOW!!
- i have felt more & more at ease with the idea of leaving & starting off on my own grand adventure
- most of my gear is purchased (now to figure out how to pack it all)
prayer requests:
- for the remainder of my fundraising to come in
- for the Lord’s ever-present peace to fill my life these next two weeks
- for relationships at training camp to blossom into lifelong friends
- for my comfort zone to be abandoned, yet for God’s protection to be over us
- for friendships at home to remain strong
thank you to all who have come alongside me on this journey. there is no way i could have done this without you!! as i say goodbye for now to those around me, i cannot stress enough how important you all are in my life. there are just no words. so with that, i end. the next time you hear from me, i’ll officially be a world racer in month one!

adopt a box:
you pick whichever box you want to adopt & you donate that amount (so box 4=$4, box 72=$72, etc). i will then put a picture of you on that box so i can have a poster of all who have helped with this fundraiser. people can split a box!! if you & a group of 4 friends each want to donate $10, you can adopt box 50!!
why am i doing this? because a lot of friends have felt like their ability to only donate $12 is insignificant. however, by filling every box i will raise almost $5000. so, people are able to come alongside me on this journey, bring whatever donation they are able to & be a partof a much bigger picture! i have already raised $1,428 with this fundraiser! if i get the remainder of the boxes filled, i would be fully fundraised!
