W-Squad all loaded up for ALL SQUAD MONTH!
This is what a birthday meal looks like in Ethiopia and I loved it.
One of my favorite things about this month was “hammock city.” Between our squad we had 8 hammocks set up out back. I really enjoyed having my quiet time in a hammock each morning.
Two words. Ethiopian coffee.
Absolutely incredible and a new favorite of mine.
This month I really got to bond with the other team leaders. Such a great group of girls who I love SO much. We loved taking tuk-tuks to our coffee dates!
Walks to get lemon & ginger sugar cane juice was another favorite of this month.
Our first and last team photo as the 6 of us. We miss you Jordan!
Injera, a traditional Ethiopian food.
Testimony 25:40 kiddos. These little ones have my whole heart. They taught me what it looks like to have a child-like faith. This ministry was incredible. Testimony is a program that feeds kids before & after school, helps with homework, provides bible teachings and the love they deserve for orphans in the community.
My girl, Love.
One of my favorite (and most tiring) weeks of the race, so far!!
Our team went back to the all-squad compound just in time to celebrate Christmas together. We did secret Santa, enjoyed donuts for breakfast and made quesadillas over a fire for dinner. Not exactly our typical Christmas celebrations but what a way to actually celebrate the real reason for the season.
My Ellie girl turned 22! We celebrated with a surprise party at the pool!
We couldn’t leave the compound in shorts so for quick trips to get snacks we would wrap our airline blankets around us. s/o to China Air & Turkish Airlines.
The best part of all squad month? Backyard volleyball!! What a treat.
Our month in Ethiopia was so restful & exactly what we needed before the next half of our race. I’m so thankful that I get to do life with these people.
