Reflecting on our time in Central-Asia and now four months away from home, I realized I have been neglecting to post photos on a regular basis on this blog. I just assume everyone sees my photos on Facebook but for those who don’t use social media, (this is especially for my Grandpa Phil & Grandma Sally) I’m sorry and here’s my best attempt to wrap it all up for you by country!

Team Reckless – Lubbock, Courtney, Ashley, Ashton Paige, Tiina, Hannah & Me !!

This is the outfit I wore for over a week while I was waiting for my lost luggage to catch up with me!

The kiddos I taught English to each morning at Cornerstone! They loved finishing a lesson early to play UNO.

Our team loved visiting the market to buy fresh fruits and veggies to cook our meals with. Cooking for seven people meant lots and lots of trips here!

All I can say about this photo is – fermented horse-milk

Team Agape joined us in Erdenet, Mongolia and we loved worship nights in our apartment with them!

Our teams got to pray over the new church property and this sweet lady saw Ashton Paige & I and invited us into her Ger. She took out her bible and told us in very broken English that she has been a believer since a young age. HOW COOL! I enjoyed seeing this sweet lady all over town for the following weeks and was always met with a warm smile and hug!

Another favorite of ours was Zaya’s Coffeehouse. Tiina & I actually got the chance to work a few shifts here. She worked in the kitchen and helped prepare food while I worked the bar mixing up drinks.

Jerrod & Melissa Adair. These two were such a blessing for each of us in Erdenet. With Mongolia being our first month away from home these two took each of us in as their own and were just what we needed in this season of the race. They let us use their washing machine (PTL!), nap on their extra beds and were our home away from home. I’m so thankful for their love and miss them so much!!

One of the last days of English class we took all our students to clean up the streets and hillsides of the city. It was so cool watching them joyfully impact their community.

An adventure day well spent in the countryside. We made kebabs and I ate almost every part of a sheep, yes even the nasty parts, like intestines, heart and the stomach. I told my mom I’d try new foods and definitely keeping my word on that one!

At the end of the month our whole squad traveled to U.B. the capital of Mongolia for Debrief. Our hostel was right outside a park that Vladimir Putin was speaking at and we all watched out our windows as we were locked inside because of safety concerns.

Hannah & I left early one morning to buy train tickets for our team to the Chinese border. While we were there we quickly realized we needed help. I started walking around the station asking if anyone spoke English. This man hopped up and said he could help but that we were in the wrong building and his train was leaving soon so we would have to hurry! This man ended up being the pastor at a local church so we got to share with him what we were doing and was so excited for us to be going to China. What a blessing he was in that moment for us.

After spending extra time in U.B. awaiting our Chinese visas…team Reckless finally left for CHINA!
