ForLaurie

We were first on a team together in: Nepal

Favorite memory with them/of them: We share so many similarities but at the same time we are so vastly different. We have some of the same desires and dreams from who we desire to marry to the way our testimonies line up to so much more. So I would say some of my favorite memories are just the conversations we had with each other when we shared a hut together in Uganda, walking back from ministry in Rwanda, countless conversation in Ethiopia, and texting each other in Kenya. We have learned so much about each other and continually encourage each other in life and in our walk with Christ. I love this woman of God!!

Best personality trait: Laurie is an encourager through and through. Whether she is just sitting with others and listening or just constantly telling people they are amazing and actually meaning it.

Animal that best describes her & why: a dog — she is loyal, friendly, and protective

Color that describes her: yellow; not only is it her favorite color but it is bright just like her

Disney princess she would be: Ariel, because she loves all things, befriends all things, and sees all things as an adventure.

Reality TV she should try out for: Naked and Afraid

The growth I have seen since Month 1 of the race isIn month 1 Laurie sought me out and asked to hear my testimony. And to this day she still seeks to hear my heart. Something I never thought about until I was thinking of how to answer his question. Not sure if this is a growth I’ve seen but it is something that I have experienced first hand. Something she continues to do. She sees people’s hearts before she sees their outer appearance. Something that I love about her.

What gifts or fruit of the spirit you see her walking injoy that overflows and kindness in action

Bible verse that reminds you of her:

“I hear the Lord saying, “I will stay close to you, instructing and guiding you along the pathway for your life. I will advise you along the way and lead you forth with my eyes as your guide. So don’t make it difficult; don’t be stubborn when I take you where you’ve not been before. Don’t make me tug you and pull you along. Just come with me!” Lord, you are my secret hiding place, protecting me from these troubles, surrounding me with songs of gladness! Your joyous shouts of rescue release my breakthrough. Pause in his presence”

Psalms 32:7-9

If you could give any advice to her for after the race it would be: Don’t relent. Don’t stop. Because he won’t stop and he won’t relent. Never forget who you are and whose you are. Because you are be-YOU-tiful. Continue to seek the Lord in the unique ways that you have been seeking him.
