September 30th the day I helped bring one of Gods lost sheep back to him…

i’m not quit sure how people can doubt the God I know.  For my God doesn’t let go of his children, he is reckless and doesn’t leave one sheep behind.

Holy Moly there was definitely a crazy party happening up in heaven on September 30th for the kingdom experienced growth.

Let me start at the beginning of this story… during the week Elle (my team mate) asked me if I would go evangelize in the villages with her, Kaylen, and our friend Chaddy, on Sunday and I gladly said yes! not knowing what God would have in store for this outing.

On Saturday of that week I was sitting in one of my favorite cafes (Jireh) and I was spending some time with my Heavenly Father when i asked him “FATHER WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BATTAMBANG?” And as clear as day he answered me with…

“I love the people. I love them for who they are. My heart breaks for them. But I still love them.”

i wanted to know more so I asked him… “GOD HOW DO I LOVE THEM?”

“EMULATE HOW I SERVED. AND WASH THEIR FEET.”

Now I just wasn’t sure if I was hearing his voice figuratively, literally, or even hearing his voice at all. So I asked… “HOW GOD?”

“Just be there for them and If they need washing wash them. Show them you care.”

this is when I knew. I knew that the Holy Spirit was calling me to something and I must obey!

That next day we made are way to a village. Mr. Sam dropped us off on a dirt road and we just started to walk almost immediately there was a house that was open so we walked up right away. We started to talk to the family the mother said at one time she believed but then she got married and became Buddhist…she said it Was hard because in Cambodian culture Buddhism is the way and now she doesn’t has time for church. We got to speak new life into her and her family through Jesus word we read the story of Jesus washing his followers feet and we asked if we could do the same for her but she was not very willing so we prayed for her and her family and encouraged her to not lose faith.

We moved on with expectation and an eagerness to find more people to listen. as we were walking looking for the next house we asked God to show us and guide us to the right people to talk to and to open a door for us too share the gospel. The nest house we went to the lady would not come out and we heard her speaking in khmer. Then she slammed her door on us and as we were walking away Chaddy told us that she told her daughter to not go outside. We kinda laughed as we walked on because clearly they were not who God wanted us talking to at that time.

The third house, a small little cement building. As we walked up not knowing what or whom to expect we found a young married couple ages 17 and 24 they were timid at first but when we told her that we would just like to talk about Jesus her face lit up and immediately without hesitation invited us into her one room home to which held a bed, stove, and one small table.

We started to talk to them and she told us she believed in Jesus because when she was little she was taught things and she started to believe. We proceeded to read them the story of Jesus washing his disciples feet and asked her husband if he believed. He said no so we told him that God wanted him to be apart of his family and he could welcome Christ into his heart that day. He smiled so big and said he would. we continued to pray over them and magic happened in that prayer God was breaking chains and new life was being born.

After we went outside and they sat in chairs while we washed their feet for them… Heng started to cry and said that he was so happy and that no one had ever washed his feet. That day we got to walk away from that house knowing that we had just made a new brother and sister. I got to witness true eternal joy and change happen in someones life. I got to see chains be broken from a heart for HIM.

The girls and I have committed to trying to find a khmer bible for them and and are hoping to make it back for a visit before we leave Battambang. its been such an awesome speechless opportunity that God has given us and I can’t wait to see how he will bless the seeds we have planted.
