where do I even begin…?
*well for starters training was so amazing despite all of the bucket showers, porta-potties, no hand washing, hose water, and spicy food, I can say that I am so freaking happy to be back and sharing some of my packin experiences with yall and hopefully, you have a better look at what your bag is supposed to look like at training!!
*training camp is a place to learn and find out what equipment and clothes work for you! now I know what your thinking… ” I just want to be told what to bring” well I’m here to do my best, but one thing to keep in mind is there is no right or wrong when packing for training and definitely no judgment because you are all in the same boat.
1.) EQUIPMENT— you will want all your equipment you think you will take on the field because you can try everything out and if you don’t like something then you can make returns and get new stuff when you get back!
-daypack
-tent (pop up but also should be able to stack in the ground)
-sleeping bag
-sleeping liner
-pillow (real pillow)
-sleeping pad (make sure it’s a good one) * I ordered a cheap one and it popped at training.
-headlamp (essential)
-hand sanitizer (you will use so much of this stuff)
– eno hammock (i slept in mine almost every night)
2.) CLOTHES— just make sure they are in dress code and you will be good!!! also you don’t need a lot of clothes DONT OVERPACK!
-4 tee shirts
-1 or 2 cute shirts
– 1 long sleeve
– rain jacket
– pair of pants (for a cold day or Africa day)
– skirt (for Africa day or India day)
-2 or 3 shorts ( 5 in above the knee)
-underwear pack enough for 10 days (lol)
-3 sports bras
3.) THINGS—
– baby wipes (you wont always get the chance to take a bucket shower)
– SNACKS (so important you will be so hungry)
– headphones
– charger
– packets of coffee
– cup + bowl + spork
– water bottle
– bible
– notebook
– pens
4.) THINGS YOU DONT NEED—
– makeup
– don’t pack tons of soap (you won’t shower a lot)
– a ton of clothes (you will wear your clothes over again)
– computer
* I hope this little packing list is helpful for you if you are a future racer!
much love, kat 🙂
