Today was an adventure day and right now I’m sitting on a cliff in Mongolia overlooking Ulaanbaatar. We hiked 2 kilometers, which is about a mile and a half. This hike was straight uphill and it was something I was not used to. In other words, I nearly died. I almost stopped a couple of times and tripped over countless logs and climbed some boulders while carrying my handfuls of flowers.
It is so worth it though. The hike reminds me of why I’m here in Mongolia. God has promised me that I will do great if I try and if I continue to push past my limits.
I could have stayed in the states, just being comfortable going to church and working. That’s not where I’m called, but if I wouldn’t have said yes to God last year I wouldn’t be in Mongolia. I wouldn’t have been able to meet all of the wonderful people I’ve met this year. I wouldn’t have this amazing view. I also would not have grown and gotten to know God more.
God does not promise us that the way to becoming more intimate with Him is easy. In fact, it’s difficult and there are logs, boulders, and flowers in your hands. The view is unbelievable though and completely worth the risk.
