Words can not describe training camp but here goes nothing. First my Squad is an amazing group of individuals which I plan on learning a lot from. We were also broke down into smaller teams of 7 and my group will be called the Vathos(Greek for Depth). Our meals consisted of fun foods from all over the world…like crickets that tasted like sunflower seeds to amazing stews! We had physical activities like our man hike which was 14 miles of the Appalachian trail to grow deeper with my brothers on the race. My brain is still spinning from all the info we learned in our sessions and thankfully I took notes. We had inspiring music from our worship team. On the fun side my Squad competed in a series of games that were called squad wars and we ended up winning! The highlight of my training camp was on the last night. I made the decision to rededicate my life to God by being Baptized. I was privileged to be asked to be the Safety Coordinator which if you know me is a perfect fit with my background. I am truly honored by this incredible opportunity and can’t wait for the next step which will be my launch for the race on August 3rd. Please continue to Pray for me as always.
