So far Peru has been a blast! This is what we’ve been up to!

Ollantaytambo – We stayed with a sweet lady, Sonia, at her Airbnb in Ollantaytambo, a small mountain town. So quaint and charming, and so calm. We could feel the difference when we got there. We formed a good relationship with her and had the opportunity to help her with her garden for another Airbnb she wanted to open, spend a meal with her, and she also showed us ancient Incan ruins around the area. Very sweet lady! I also had a favorite restaurant, called Misky Uno (pic below)!

FUN – We had the privilege to see some beautiful sights of Peru, including Laguna Humantay, Machu Picchu, and Rainbow Mountain/Red Valley. During our trips, we had many conversations with fellow travelers or taxi drivers and got to share a bit of life and conversation with them.

Cusco – We stayed at Brother’s Hostel. It had just opened a week or so prior to us coming and it was run by a very sweet believing family. They had been praying for a large group to come stay with them. We were the answer to their prayer and it was such a privilege to do life with them. They were able to join our worship nights, prayers, conversations, and more. They were soo sweet. I was able to form a good relationship with Maritha, Arnold, and Brandon. All in all, just encourage them. Since they were going through some rougher times in life, this was a dream that they had had for a while and just started. It was a blessing to our squad for sure and I can’t wait to see the many more lives that they touch through their business!

The Jungle! – We are currently staying with a missionary family in the north of Peru in the middle of the jungle. IT is a BLAST! They have 7 children, so never a dull moment! We have been able to hang with the kiddos and love on them. We also had a prayer/healing retreat, where we worshiped, shared a message, testimonies, and prayed for all types of healing (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual). I had the privilege to share a short testimony and I shared it in Spanish. I trust God translated what didn’t make sense :). We are really just doing life with them, visitng local juice shops (Yummm! :)), eating meals together, meeting their community, playing soccer with the local community, and seeing more of Peru. The jungle is absolutely beautiful out here! It’s been a blessing and a joy to get to live with a family. Every time we stay with a missionary family, I am always so blessed. Their love for their family makes me want to be more loving. It’s amazing how that works. When I am surrounded by loving people, I naturally* want to become more loving. Hopefully we can all be a bit more love, which creates a domino effect to those around us.

Also, here are some super yummy foods from Peru! 🙂
