Well after hours of researching gear, many many prayers, getting all vaccinated up, and saying many goodbyes, it’s here! I’m officially on my way. Made it into SF yesterday. Saw a few sights and met most of my team. We fly out today and after a few stops, we will be landing in Cambodia. Once we arrive, we will have a couple of weeks of training and launch preparation, where we meet our coaches, leaders, and get to know our team. We will also be putting technology away during this time, so I will be out for the next couple of weeks, but I am excited to update you on what happens, following our preparation and training.
It’s a bit surreal this is happening. I am beyond excited for what lies ahead this year. A mixture of emotions and thoughts that I am quite honestly still processing. The Lord has really been stirring my heart over the last week or so to be more concerned with the things that He concerns Himself with, including the people that we will be going to, proclaiming the message of salvation, and just a general excitement for my trip.
Here are a few prayer requests that I would love prayers for.
– Mental preparation – I am really hoping that I can use my flight over to mentally prepare for this upcoming year. I would like to reflect on 2018, thinking about all of the ways the Lord provided, blessed me, and grew me over this past year. I also want to think about what I hope to see for 2019. I am excited to hold my plans loosely and see where the Spirit leads while concurrently seeking how the Lord might be pressing into me, shaping me, and wanting me to grow over the next several months.
– My team – Unity and depth in relationships. That we would build strong foundations and encourage one another in a Godly and positive way.
– Discernment and wisdom from the Spirit – I deeply long for a humble and soft heart to do and go where the Spirit leads.
– A heart that longs for the things of God – Simply put, a heart that longs for people to know God and to be broken and desire the things God desires.
