Next Thursday is the day my squad and I leave Battambang to head on our next adventure. I am obviously extremely excited to go to Africa, however, Battambang has quickly become like a home to me. We have a family, a home, wonderful ministry hosts, new friends, tons of memories, places where we go a lot, a coffee guy, a laundry lady, and so much more. It will be very hard leaving the people here. First of all, I have been blessed to teach some of the most wonderful students who have such loving hearts. The Ezra students who I taught month one still have a place in my heart. Whenever I see them, I get so excited because I miss teaching them. One student that I see a lot is named Sakal. He is one of my favorites because he is so dang funny. Now, being at Pañasastra, I have met tons of cute kids and awesome teachers. It will be very sad leaving these people. Some of the kids from Pañasastra that I spend a lot of time during the day with are Mey Mey, July, Minea, Lyeer, etc. Every single one of my students make me so happy. Thank you Lord for being so present during these past three months in Cambodia.
And now, God is giving me so much excitement over the next location. My squad and I are heading to Harbu Chulule, Ethiopia and we will be there around December 12ish I’m guessing. That’s the thing; we don’t know much yet. However, we are all so excited to start loving on some cute African children. Thank you so much, Lord, for feelings. I thank you that you allow us to feel extremely excited for things and sad to leave things. You are a good Father who loves to give good gifts.
Regarding our ministry or living situation in Ethiopia, we do not know any of that information yet. The only thing I know as of now is that we will be working with HOPETHIOPIA which is an organization in a village in Africa. I left a link to their website below. Their mission is “firstly, to raise Ethiopian children into citizens with exceptional moral standards and strength of character; and secondly, to restore the values of purpose and dignity to the lives of Ethiopia’s homeless pastors.” I cannot wait to see what God has in store for my squad in Ethiopia. Come along for the journey by subscribing to my blog and subscribing to my Youtube for videos (Gabby Raatz on Youtube).
