// Why did God always seem to be with David? //
Because David was always with God.
David was called to be a King in the palace. However, David was so focused on
what God was calling him to AT THAT TIME that he didn’t miss any in-between
learning in the process. David knew that he had to serve in the pasture before
making it to the palace. When they sent for David from the pasture, he didn’t walk
into the palace trying to anoint himself. David walked into the palace to serve and
then guess what he did? He returned to the pasture.
While watching a message from Pastor Michael Todd today, I gained TONS of
wisdom about being called and “marked” by God. His message was titled
“Marked” and he speaks about David’s life.
“Can I mark you and then send you back to the place where it doesn’t look like you
are supposed to be?”
David was marked to be a King.
David was content with what God called him to AT THAT MOMENT.
David served in the pasture.
He was sent to the palace to bring joy.
He served his time at the palace.
David returned to the pasture.
David drew near to God and focused on Him.
David became the KING DAVID.
In GOD’S TIMING.
In his message, Pastor Michael Todd said, “Your opportunity is going to be wrapped
in obedience.”
If we are unwilling to be obedient to God, we will miss the opportunities He has
placed in that drawing near to Him.
God called David to merely bring meals to his brothers at war. However, if David
wasn’t obedient in this small task, he would have never met Goliath.
“Obedience is NEVER about the other person, it is about your relationship to God.”
David wasn’t invited to the party.
Why?
Because God wanted to teach David in the pasture. Teach him to take what he has
and use it to God’s glory. Because of this time spent with God, David didn’t
flinch when he was up against Goliath.
This is what we are called to as well.
We are called to be SO enveloped in what God has called us to AT THIS TIME that
we are unconcerned with anointing ourselves with a marking that will come.
IN GOD’S TIMING.
