South Africa was a favorite by far. I enjoyed the freedom it brought. I’ve never felt more like myself on the race. The atmosphere was peaceful and refreshing. My prayer this month was for God to work on me from the inside out and our home and ministry was a perfect compliment to that prayer. We met incredible people and I enjoyed participating in acts of service as a way to love others. My time in South Africa was centered on building relationships, learning how to have a heart of repentance and not only breaking down walls I’ve built up, but breaking down the walls of others to help them receive love. It’s impossible to love others well if we first haven’t come to the full realization of how much God loves us, and wants us to see His likeness in our beings.

Mike and Noreen invited us over for tea time. They are seriously the best- so generous. They set such a good example of loving each other well.
Mike made us homemade bread. How sweet! He is working on a project to make a bigger outdoor oven and patio space.
These are traditional South African treats.
Joe and Galin coordinate the preschools and teach courses at the Bible College. They are really knowledgeable and passionate about kids.
Our hosts took us on a road trip along the coast to the southern most point of Africa where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet.
This is Betty’s Bay where there are penguins!
Official welcome sign of Heidelberg in both English and Afrikans.
This is a picture of the Bry (similar to a BBQ) we gathered for after church.
This is our last night. Alfred, Andrea and their children made us dinner and we spent time together before saying goodbye. We met them through Charis Bible College.
