This has been a hard blog to get to, and it is quite late. Apologies for that. Our time in Malaysia has proven to be full of time seeking the Lord, and investing in ourselves and one another, with less time for other things (More on that later).
My teammates all wrote excellent pieces on our time in Thailand, so if you want to see the details and concepts surrounding ministry there, I will link them below.
Thailand had always been some place I had wanted to go for….forever! It’s actually one of the counties that stood out the most to me when choosing my World Race route.
It was nothing like I expected. Or, perhaps, I was nothing like I expected.
Maybe a few years ago I would have been able to “enjoy it”. However, walking around the tourist-centered streets, overwhelmed by the smells, lights, and sounds, and even exploring the beautiful nature in Pai, I could feel the oppressive, distractive spirit. It was dark and heavy and I truly did not understand how much I had felt it until we entered Malaysia and didn’t feel it any more.
Four American white girls, not drinking, playing pool in a bar on Walking Street stirred up some curiosity, that’s for sure. We became regulars at a particular bar, and through that, we made some amazing connections and had God conversations. Seeds were planted and watered, and we just became the light in very dark places. We loved people, made a point to see the unseen, and I felt so incredibly empowered by the Holy Spirit to go in there, speak out truth and love others where they were.
If every believer could live like that, all of the time, working together as a unified body….we would see revival everywhere. That’s my hope for the Bride.
Anyways. Please read my teammates’ blogs on this. They are incredibly insightful and well written….what else can I say?
As always, thanks for reading! Love you!
