Dear mom,
It has been a joy to see the work God has done in your life in understanding the Great Commission on a greater level through watching your daughter go on the World Race. You had understandable hesitations about me going on the Race because safety is not guaranteed overseas and you were imagining the worst case scenarios about what could happen to your baby girl. I know your heart and I know you are a loving mom who is always looking out for my best interest. I’m so happy you took the World Christian Perspectives class at the same time I launched for the World Race. You spent hours digging into the biblical purpose of Missions as I was on the field partnering with long term missionaries serving in various capacities. It rocked my world to hear that you were finally understanding why I am doing what I’m doing on the World Race and why anyone would give up everything to go overseas. At the start of my World Race journey we were told that your experience on the Race will not only impact you, but your family and friends around you. This journey has been worth it not only for the ways I have seen God at work around the world, but the beautiful work He is doing in Your life back in Wisconsin. I love you mom. Thank you for supporting my dream to go on the World Race even though you thought I was out of my mind when I first told you about it 2 years ago. Thank you for being my biggest cheerleader and for all the life giving face time conversations we’ve had. Thank you for the reminder to me that this World Race journey is more than just about my own experience and for being open to growing in your own faith walk. I can’t wait to hug you in November.
Love, your favorite world traveler daughter
Ministry update: We are partnering with Ezra Ministries in Battambang, Cambodia for the month. We are teaching English classes 5 days a week to elementary aged children and high school students. We have the opportunity to teach English and Bible stories. It is exciting to be able to share about our faith with our students.

One more thing: I am hoping to write a blog post sometime this month about questions my friends and family have about my World Race trip. Comment below or send me an email with a question about what I’m learning, funny stories, culture shock, etc and I may answer it in my next blog.
A picture of mom and I at World Race Launch in Atlanta in January. I was a hot mess of tears about 2 minutes after this picture was taken. Can’t wait to hug you in a few months mom!
