We are continuing to work with adults with special needs this week with a ministry called Hand of Hope. We spent the week building relationships with the residents by playing with them, singing songs, and doing anything we can help the employees. It is a joy to be around these adults because their joy about life continues to bless me. Sometimes it can feel frustrating with the language barrier, but it’s important to remember that love is a universal language and a smile can be understood in any language. After an hour of coloring with my new friend Daniella she started introducing me as mi amiga translated to my friend. I was ecstatic to hear her say something that I understood. Today was a reminder that I am not on the World Race to change lives, convert everyone I meet to Christianity, or have year of life changing experiences. I am here to love people and to make new friends with those around me.
Fundraising update: Thanks to the generosity of family and friends in my life I currently have $13,200 of the $18,200 I need for my trip. I will be continuing to fundraise until the final deadline of $18,200 in April.
