Hola from Valle de Angeles Honduras!
My team and I had a great first week of ministry. We did some yard work and organized a closet of donations for an organization called Hand of Hope, an organization working with adults with special needs. We are excited to partner with this organization and serve in whatever way we can. It was very encouraging to see the other projects other World Race teams completed. Seeing the work of other teams made me realize that I am a part of the bigger picture and we may not see the full fruit of the labor we are doing, but every small contribution to the organization helps the organization thrive.
Some highlights from my week:
It has been a joy to get to know the residents at Hand of Hope. They are so joyful and happy to interact with anyone.
I have learned that a great way to develop community with a team of people you are still getting to know is to have no wifi. My team and I spend hours hanging out and talking together in the evenings and it is a breath of fresh air to spend uninterrupted time with friends.
The mountains here are breath taking and I marvel at the beauty of the mountains daily.
Honduran food is AMAZING and I’m so thankful our host cooks delicious food for us every day.
Many thanks to the people who are praying for me and cheering me on from back home. I am overwhelmed by the support and encouragement I have received from family and friends while being on this journey.
