We met a woman early on in Nepal. She was a devout Hindu who had no time for any Christian nonsense about Jesus being the only way and that there is no god but one. She was outspoken about her beliefs and was ready to share with anyone whether they asked for it or not. But then everything changed.

We started the day by hiking forever to a small church. Our plan was to go in, encourage the believers, get out and make it to the bus on time. We did it! We got to share with and pray over the believers. I got to share from 2 Chronicles 16:9 and Isaiah 66:2 (one of my favorites). I also got to play a litte tambourine during worship which was a first!

But on the way to the church, we stopped by a small house right off the dirt path. Our host told us a little bit about the woman that lives there and how she was outspoken against Jesus and that we were going there to pray for her. We arrive at her house and she is standing in the threshold of the door. As we’re walking up to her, her husband sets down a stool for her to sit on. She shuffles and tries to walk and sit.
Years ago, one morning this woman was taking blood pressure medicine. Out of nowhere she loses control of her body and cannot move. She started to have a stroke. She survived but was left paralyzed. Her family tried everything to help her. They prayed to their gods more, made more sacrifices, traveled to many different witch doctors but nothing worked. Then, they heard about a man named Jesus who heals people. The same Jesus she spoke out against.
Periodically, World Race teams have stopped by her house to pray for healing over her. A pastor from a nearby church goes over most days to pray and teach her and her husband about God. She started to get healed. Slowly, she could start moving parts of her body again. Now, when we saw her, she could stand and move. Not perfectly but still. As the healing came, the more she started to believe and then she finally gave her life to Jesus.

Her husband still doesn’t believe. He worships many gods and still tries to use pagan rituals to heal his wife. Pray for him and that he will see that there is only one God and one healer.
