Be Light conference by Jamie Galloway with Tracey Fox and Rick Pino was held at Heartland Church, which I attend in Ankeny, Iowa. It was a one day event that was pack full of great worship, teaching, and testimonies.
The main point of this conference was (as the name suggests) about being light.
This may be simple and seem really obvious, but for me, looking back I realize that it was there that I had an “Ah Ha” moment of connecting bravery with light.
Jamie’s words made the ‘light bulb’ go on in my head when he said, “We miss opportunities because we’re afraid of being seen.” Those words really resonated with me.
Now, in hindsight I can see how God has been working in me to be brave long before I started to step out in recognition of this process of becoming brave and moving from fear to courage.
Circuit Riders (of YWAM) Carry the Love tour was held at Iowa State University. This event consisted of a night of worship with a short message, a day of praying for students on campus, and an evening of worship with split messages for men (Gideon’s 100) and woman (Brave Love).
I was unable to attend the prayer on campus, but was fortunate enough to attend the nights of worship and woman’s Brave Love. Both were amazing, but I was really rocked by the Brave Love session for woman.
During the session the Circuit Riders spoke on the Brave and Incredible woman in the Bible (Deborah, Ester, Jael, Mary, etc.) and how intimacy with Jesus is necessary. That “intimacy with Jesus is the key to changing a nation” and sincerely loving others.
Looking back I can see how God was pointing out to me that Intimacy with Him is a huge key to being brave and courageous. As well as how it is extremely necessary for the upcoming World Race trip.
