Hi Friends. It’s been a crazy few months. I have been through a lot of transitions since committing to the World Race.
I’m going to be honest and say it’s not been very fun though there has been some exciting moments.
I mean, who really likes being in constant transition and lacking in any sort of normal routine? We all seem to like getting into routines as quick as possible don’t we? At least I know I do!
Routines make going through the days and weeks more structured and productive, it becomes habit and then we don’t have to use as much brain power, right?
But what happens when our routines are broken, messed with, or completely thrown out the window?
Here’s a visual for you. Imagine how you would feel in this situation:
You’re driving down the road and continually hitting road blocks and detours. You’re unable to maintain a consistent speed or direction, and are often getting caught in stop go traffic! This isn’t normal for you and is happening while you are on your way to work, or a party, or an interview; something very important and/or very exciting for you.
So, how would you feel?
Would you get cranky, angry, upset, frustrated, anxious, worried, confused, discouraged; perhaps frantic with feeling chaotic, or you become at a loss of what to do, or how to keep going, and if you’re ever going to make it through, overwhelmed by several emotions?
Okay, Caitlynn so where are you going with this…?
Well, let me explain. I’m going to be very real and say I’ve been through all of these emotions and more! Giving up routine and normalcy, for the unknown of constant transition is very hard.
God can really use transitional periods in our life to teach, train, and prepare us for what’s in store for us. I know because that is what He has been doing for me.
On the World Race things will be ever changing and I will be transitioning from one country to another each month for 11 months and dealing with travel within countries also. I will be surround by transition for a year! And God is teaching me how to effectively deal with that in a healthy manner, remembering His truths and Jesus’ example.
It may be hard now, but God is taking me through the steps to help me handle it while on the Race that will keep me from burning out, because I’ll know how to recharge, and where my foundation lies. The Joy of the Lord is my strength, He is my firm foundation.
I’m ever learning more about me and more about Him and more about what He says about me.
God, is good all the time, and all the time, God is good. Even in the hard times of transition.
Amidst the road blocks and detours, I have seen and experienced some incredibly amazing things! Where are your eyes fixed the obstacle or the opportunities?
So, don’t be afraid of transition, embrace it as an opportunity not as an obstacle, for God is on our side.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28 NLT
I appreciate your continued support! 🙂
