Why
You may think this should be easy to explain, but it’s actually quite hard to put into words.
Let’s try a quick story. 🙂
Once upon a time there lived a girl, she was happy, yet broken.
As she grew she lived more like a chameleon than a Princess, blending in with those she was around. Some may say she simply fit in well, but really she changed her colors when necessary; she didn’t know her own color, therefore she hid in the colors of those around her.
Until one day when, she was led to a meeting with a Prince, who realized her true potential. He showed her who she was and gave her the courage to start shedding the chameleon and reveal the Princess within.
She decided that day to follow the Prince and get to know Him better. There have been struggles, ups and downs, successes and failures, sorrow and joy. Through it all He’s been by her side helping her to grow and learn, mending and refining.
Then one evening she clicked on a link and read what came up. She was moved to tears, a feat that doesn’t happen often. What she read really touched her heart. She read about adventure, serving others, community, growing closer to the Prince, living out His model, and introducing Him to those like she was, who need Him.
So, though she was terrified, she made the decision to say ‘Yes’ and join the journey of going on the World Race. She knew it was an adventure that she was meant to go on, one that He wants her on.
You may or may not realize that the Prince of this story is Jesus. 🙂
And…
Maybe this story doesn’t give many details, but it is the truest best expression of the Why for this life changing Adventure of a lifetime that this gal can give in words.
