This trip, for me, is the biggest step of faith I’ve ever taken. And I’m hoping to get a lot out of it; I’m hoping that I will be used to further the kingdom in a definite way. I hope to gain so much on this trip, but I also hope to lose some things. Let me explain:

Gains:

1) I hope to gain a deeper relationship with Christ.

2) I hope to gain life long, deep friendships, supportive and corrective (iron sharpens iron).

3) I hope to gain more brothers and sisters in Christ as we share the gospel of Christ.

4) I hope to gain experience in the supernatural, I’m hungry for signs and wonders.

5) I hope to gain ministry training and practice.

6) I hope to gain cultural awareness and world perspective.

7) I hope to gain perspective on my own life, a kingdom perspective.

8) I hope to gain wisdom and strengthen my worldview.

Losses:

1) I hope to lose material dependence and desire for more and more things (greed mentality).

2) I hope to lose selfish desires, I want to become a servant.

3) I hope to lose stress to succeed in my own strength, I want to live for God.

4) I hope to lose complacency.

5) I hope to lose My life, to gain something much bigger and better!

This list is an insight into my heart as I embark on the wildest and most radical year of my life (well so far at least). I want to go out with a pure and God-center heart. I want to be completely focused on Him, so I will not thwart any part of His plan for this trip!

Prayer Requests:

Dear Lord,

Thank you for this opportunity. Thank you for showing me what you want me to do. Thank you for preparing a team of like-minded believers, ready to unite as one body of Christ. Thank you for your provision as I move forward in this endeavor. Thank you for safety and protection of my whole team and myself as we go out of our comfort zone in your name. Thank you for who you are, your faithfulness, your goodness, your provision, and, most importantly, your love.

Thank you Lord and I love you, in Jesus name!

Amen!

P.S. I have a backpack and gear, I’m unbelievably stoked!
