So I’ve had this on my mind since before training camp and I think I made up my mind about this during training camp, but I just kept putting writing a blog off for some reason. I don’t even know why I do this it’s not like writing these blogs is a super awful experience. If anything it feels good to put my thoughts out there instead of keeping them stored in my head like I usually do.

Anyway the topic at hand I want to write about is how I’m going to try to structure my blog and what I’m going to try to write about.

For a while I was toying with the idea of writing this in different ways. I thought about writing it in 3rd person, I thought about including every single detail I can remember, I thought about using this as a way to record everything for my own history’s sake. I’ve thought about putting my whole life story on here and I’ve predominantly thought about writing it like an adventure novel.

In the end I’ve decided on a few things.

1. The main purpose of this blog in not to entertain but to inform the people back home (especially my donor) about how God is working through me and in me.

2. It would get boring and overly long if I were to use too much detail but I definitely need to convey accurately whats going on, so I’ll try my best to pick and choose what’s important to mention.

3. At training camp they asked us to update this weekly while on the race, so I’m going to try my best to live up to that expectation.

4. I’m not going to overthink it or intentionally try to fit into a style, instead I’m just going to make these how it feels naturally to do it.

5. I’m not going to try to be a perfectionist with this. I’ve been learning overtime that truly nothing can be perfect besides God, and you’ll never be satisfied or get anything done(especially with your own work) if you go into everything expecting perfection. Of course that doesn’t mean I’m going to be sloppy with this either, but I’m not going to be so nit picky with it.
