Hello family and friends!

I hope this blog finds you well! I am currently in Chiang Mai, Thailand preparing to head to Botswana, Africa on Monday! I am writing this blog to update you all on what my team and I did during our time in Asia, to ask for your prayers as we head to Africa and to give you an update on fundraising!

While in Asia, my team served in the following cities:

Bandung, Indonesia

Tam Ky, Vietnam

Toch village outside of Kampot, Cambodia

Chiang Mai, Thailand

In Indonesia, we were partnered with a couple who has been in Indonesia for over 20 years. They spend their time teaching English to young adults. We were able to develop relationships with these young adults and we also hung out with children in the slums. This month was full of learning how to show Jesus through our actions when we had to be careful with our words. This was one of my favorite countries! I loved the city we were in and really enjoyed the people we got to serve and hang out with!

In Vietnam, it is illegal to preach the gospel so we taught English this month. We were in a local private school and built relationships with the students and teachers. This is another month where we had to learn how to show Jesus through our actions when we couldn’t speak about Jesus. We were in a smaller town this month but Vietnam is a beautiful country! It was a blessing to help teach English to the kids at this school!

In Cambodia, we partnered with an organization that does house visits in the morning to the people in the village. They also provide English classes to the kids of the village. They have a church on the property and my team got to preach and tell testimonies during church on Sundays. Our days consisted of house visits in the morning and then English classes in the afternoon or evening. We got to build relationships with the children and families in the community. House visits normally include getting to know the person we are visiting and then praying over them. This was a hard month for me but the Lord worked in amazing ways this month not only in me but through my team also. We had a couple days at the end of the month where we did manual labor at our hosts house where they make coconut oil products.

Finally, Thailand. This month was definitely my favorite. We were partnered with Agape which is a home for kids with HIV/AIDs or who have been abandoned. This home is a testament to the Lord’s faithfulness when one person follows God’s will for their life. We spent our month doing manual labor which included sanding down a staircase and painting it, sanding down furniture and painting it, and playing with or feeding the kids! Sometimes we were able to play in the pool with the kids also! These kids have nannies who take care of them around the clock and they are living full lives because of the treatment they are receiving. Agape houses 98 kids, with some of the older kids being there for over 10 years. I will never forget our time here and thank the Lord for our time spent here.

As we head into Africa, I ask that you pray for our safety first. I ask that you pray for God to move in us and through us, that we would see miraculous things during these next four months. I ask that you pray for the dead to come to life and the blind to see. Please pray that my squad and I would be fully funded. Only a handful of us are still fundraising, praise the Lord! With that being said, I am currently at $14,702 which means I have $3,498 left to fundraise. Please be in prayer that the Lord would provide this amount for me to stay on the field. I really do not want to get sent home early! If you feel led to support me financially, you can clink the button above that says “donate”. If you cannot financially support me, your prayers are more than enough!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me this year! My life will never be the same. Please feel free to reach out with questions or encouragement!

Love,

Bethany
