Dear family and friends,
I am so excited and honored to be writing this! I have some exciting news! I have been accepted to be apart of the World Race in January Route 1! You might be asking, what is the World Race? Well, it is an 11 month missions trip to 11 countries (11 in 11 as they say). I will be leaving my job, home and church to spread the love of Christ around the world with other like minded young people. Sounds exciting right? Let me tell you a little bit about how I got to this point!
I have known for a while that God was calling me out of Mississippi, but I had no idea what He had in store! I had heard about the World Race and recently looked at the routes and prices. I thought to myself there was absolutely NO WAY I was going to do that. So I didn’t think another thing about it. But God started to pull on my heart. One day, He told me just to message a girl locally that had just gotten back from the race months before, so I did! Of course, I prayed and prayed. Sometimes all I would pray is “God, send me if it is Your will.” I talked to another local girl who had done the race years before. She said to just apply and not even think about it! I’m single with no kids so why not? I knew at that point, if God wanted this for me, He would work it out! The interview process did not look good for me because I have had some minor health issues this past year that AIM wanted to make sure would not affect me on the race. Once I got cleared from my doctor, it was a confirmation that this is what God has for me! It’s incredible to look back at what I thought God wanted for me right now but through prayer and patience, He has brought me this opportunity to be His hands and feet across 11 countries!
First of all, I ask for your prayers. Every day, every week, before I leave and while I am on the field. I am preparing my mind, spirit and body to follow this calling God has placed on my life. Secondly, if you feel led, you can donate on my blog or write a check made out to Adventures in Missions with my fundraiser card attached to it. I will be doing several fundraisers to help meet my fundraising goals. My ultimate fundraising goal is $18,200. I know it seems like a lot, because it is, but I am choosing to believe that God will provide! If you have any questions or would like to talk about the Race, you can call, text, email or FB message me. Also, be sure to subscribe to my blog for updates! I will be posting from now on until the end of the Race.
Thank you in advance for all of your prayers and support! It means so much to me that you took the time to read this letter.
May God bless you,
Bethany Carter
