this month on the race has been an “ask the Lord” month. this means we do not have a set ministry host that we are partnering with. we, as a team, got to pray and ask the Lord where He desired us to go. each morning we get to pray and ask Him what he has for us.

“ask the Lord” months have taught me so much on the Race.  they show me just how the Lord intends this life to be lived. how to live on a mission every single day. how a simple change in perspective can change this life we live to be more focused on the Lord each day.  this “ask the Lord” month has been so fun because we, as a team, came together and felt like the Lord was telling us to simply share Him as we go. meaning to do the things we like to do. to go about a normal day of grocery shopping, exercising, sight seeing, anything. but as we do this, constantly be pursuing the people right in front of us. be asking God who and what He has for us. he will give us the words to say to each person we meet as long as we ask Him!! i am learning to live in constant communication with my Father so i may have His eyes as i go about my daily schedule. this new perspective has shown me how my life can always look, on and off the Race. it changes running a simple errand into really seeing the people in line around me and caring to get to know them. it takes the attention off what I need to get done and puts it on what He has for me in the small moments.  my life would look radically different if I always chose this perspective. i heard a quote in a podcast that said, “go about your daily tasks, and ask God who He has for you along the way.”

the Race is not forever and I will go home in 4 months (weird), but this is the main perspective change i would love to take into my life back home or wherever I am after this. to see everyday and every thing I do as a chance to shine love, joy, and Truth to each person. whether it’s the person next to me in line as I check out my groceries, the barista at a coffee shop, or anyone the Lord highlights to me, I do not want to waste any moment. this life was given to us to be so much more than we see at times.

the only thing we won’t be able to do in Heaven is share the gospel, so let’s notice the people all around us that need to hear it today. as you go, spread Truth.
