Obviously saying I couldn’t live without these 11 things is an exaggeration, but they certainly did make life easier when circumstances were challenging. I truly believe there is always something to be thankful for & God cares for even our simplest needs.
1. Airdrop- with just a few swipes or clicks your images and notes can be shared between Apple users without internet access. Throughout the month, my squad shared countless photos, schedules, notes, and song lyrics.
2. Uber– the cheapest, safest way to travel within the city of Medellin.
3. Headphones– the universal signal for “I’m having quiet time” while sitting in the company of 45 people.
4. Earplugs & Eye Mask– perfect for napping during travel and combatting the ambient noises and lights at night.
5. Baby Wipes– when daily showers aren’t an option, these are a necessity for freshening up and wiping the layers of dirt off your feet.
6. Travel Buddy– that friend who always saves this carsick-prone and claustrophobic passenger a seat up front while everyone else boards.
7. Google Translate– for those times when your Spanish is more than questionable.
8. Getting Up Early– to avoid the hustle of people getting ready in the morning and spending time with Jesus on the roof.
9. Collapsible Coffee Dripper– for a delicious cup of pour-over coffee every morning.
10. Wearing a Watch– to keep you oriented and on time when clocks are absent, and phones are intentionally left behind.
11. Flexibility– to remain calm despite an ever-changing schedule.
Stay tuned as I get caught up sharing more stories from Colombia.
P.S. I’m loving Ecuador already <3
