(I’m also editing this section, because I feel like I haven’t conveyed my excitement for this trip very well.)
The World Race is a program of the non-profit organization Adventures in Missions. I will be apart of a team that travels to eleven different countries in eleven months, spreading the word of God. The countries I will be going to are: Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, and Peru.
I knew I needed to apply for the World Race as soon as I learned what it was. Eleven countries in eleven months? Yes, please! Missions has always been a deep cry of my heart, and this opportunity was one I couldn’t pass up. Though I still have about seven months until I leave, the excitement is unreal. I can not wait to see the miracles performed, the prayers answered, the relationships established, the hope spread. This is a journey I have been longing for and I look forward to sharing it with all of you.
Edit: I AM SO EXCITED FOR THE WORLD RACE. The more I think about it, the more I want to cry with happiness. This is literally (said in the voice of Chris Traeger from Parks and Rec) a freaking dream come true for me, y’all. I’m going to be living out of a backpack for almost a whole year. To normal people, that sounds awful. Why would anyone want to do that? Honestly, I don’t know. But I fall in love with the thought of it. I’m a huge outdoorsy person and I love camping (sleeping on the ground style) and I’m basically going to be camping (IN ELEVEN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES) for a year, y’all. I think the most exciting part about the entire trip, though, is I’m going to be living like Jesus did throughout the Bible. Walking around, loving on some folks, speaking truth, being a light, singing some praises, doing Jesus stuff. ‘Excited’ isn’t even the right word to describe how I feel about this. It feels like my soul is being set on fire. (In a good way.) It’s amazing.
